The Void: Part Three
The way out is through.
We've named the void. We've looked at what it's burning away — and why that burning isn't punishment. Now the question everyone in it eventually asks: how do I move? This is what I know.
There’s no correct way to leave the void.
I want to say that plainly, because I’ve watched people torture themselves with the question—am I doing this right? am I healing fast enough? why don’t I feel better yet?—and the torture is its own delay.
The void doesn’t respond to urgency. It responds to honesty.
But there is a movement. And I can describe it.
It doesn’t look like recovery. It looks like three small things, done over and over, until one day you notice the parking lot has a current again.
